in Bonner County have been drier than normal this year due mostly to the lack of snowfall. As a result, this spring has been full of brush fires earlier than normal. I want to WARN everyone wanting to get out there and burn yard debris to take EXTREME CAUTION. We have already responded to multiple fires that have gotten out of control. If you do burn, please be sure to have the following:
1. Have someone attending the fire at all times.
2. Have a water source nearby.
3. No burning during windy days.
4. Keep fires small and manageable.
Remember, this is an unusually dry spring and hopefully we will get more moisture to lower our fire danger.
